Flower Of The Week.

31 Oct

It’s time for our flower of the week post!
Chrysanthemum: Daisy Pompom

We call these daisy poms and have been using a lot of them in gorgeous, reds, golds, and bronze for our fall arrangements. ┬áDaisy poms also come in white, lavender, purple, pink, orange, and two tone. There are between 3 and 7 small flowers on a stem. Daisy’s are usually used to add body to an arrangement. Daisy poms are the birth flower of November and they mean hope, cheerfulness, optimism, rest, truth, and innocence.

There is also a smaller version of this flower appropriately named a Mini Calla. These flowers are used as line flowers in arrangements. Flower of the Week

17 Oct

It’s that time of the week again!
This week you’re going to learn about:
Agapanthus

Agapanthus is a beautiful, exotic looking flower. It is also known as, Lily of the Nile, Blue African Lily, and Flower of Love. It can be white, blue, or lavender. Agapanthus is used in arrangements to set the shape. It is a globe shaped bloom with clusters of trumpet like flowers. The blooms are fragrant and can be dried. Agapanthus means secret love, to be well-contented with, or love letters. We keep Aggies (as we like to call them) in stock here at Echelon so if you like this flower be sure to ask for it in your next arrangement!
